This is a 3/4 scale cardinal wood carving by master wood carver Art Stadler.  The detail on this piece is exquisite and beyond anything you will ever see!!!!
 
Art Stadler was born June 15, 1916 in Duluth, Minn, and passed away on Nov 4, 2007.
 
He worked as a commercial artist in Chicago and in 1952 moved to Wickenburg, Ariz, with his wife Melba and three young daughters. There they owned Many Feathers Trading Post, and Art began carving birds. His work was soon being shown in art galleries in Arizona and was featured as a complement to the Audubon exhibit at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum.
